Chris Cole MS, CEP
Clinical Exercise Physiologist and Nutrition Specialist
My Background
My name is Chris Cole, and I am honored that you are choosing me to help you improve your quality of life. I have a Bachelors and Master’s Degree in Exercise Science. Throughout school I had the privilege of working with a diverse group of professors ranging from college strength coaches, PhD’s who work at the Mayo Clinic, and Physicians of varying disciplines. While in graduate school I studied and published research on topics ranging from seasonality’s impact on exercise adherence, protein intakes impact on body composition changes, and motivational interviewing’s impact on goal attainment and adherence to exercise. I am Registered Clinical Exercise Physiologist and nutritional specialist with over 12 years of experience. I am worked in Cardiopulmonary Rehab, commercial gyms, and various rehab facilities working with patients with many health conditions ranging from heart disease, respiratory disease, obesity, amputations, partial parathesis, and various risk factors. I also have worked with a wonderful group of professionals throughout my time in the rehab field such as cardiologists, nurses, respiratory therapists, psychologists, and dieticians. All these factors have given me a wide range of experience with thousands of clients/patients and makes me the perfect person to help you. Also, it has given access to a network of highly qualified professionals to lean on and help you even further. Furthermore, I am very much aware of what I, nor anyone, cannot do, and that is to truly heal someone. This is something that only God can do and as a devout Christian I know that to be truly healthy everyone must look not only at their physical and mental health, but also their spiritual health. Also, I have found that when you bring God into your physical problems, He makes solutions that I could never bring about. I look forward to helping you get to your goals!
My Hobbies
I love God, my family, and peanut butter – in that order. On a serious note, I have always loved being active, playing sports, and challenging myself. I currently enjoy playing basketball, lifting weights, biking, golf, and any group exercise activity (even yoga with my wife on occasions). Outside of exercise, I enjoy reading, cooking, gardening, learning new things, traveling with my wife and family, and a good glass of bourbon. I must admit, one aspect of learning that I am interested in is research. As I mentioned I worked on multiple research projects while in graduate school and continue doing research at the hospital I work at currently. You can read about my past, current, and future research and interests in my blog posts if your interested.
